You are Superman

Is life not where you want it to be? Are you down and out? Out of luck? Lost all hope? I have great news for you, you’re human. You see being human means we have weaknesses, you’re allowed to be sad. Take time off to mourn, you will never be at a 100% everyday. You see those we see as heroes have the same problems, the only difference is they push through it. Life will more times than not require you to go above and beyond what is required to achieve a goal. We will not always be great but damn it we can do great things. The problem is we’ve come to see success as having money and fancy things. We’ve lost the true essence of humanity which is loving your neighbor. The smiles you leave behind will be worth more than any role you buy, life is about the impact you’ve made. What you leave behind is worth more than anything you own. The great part about this is no matter where you are in life right now, you can be somewhere else tomorrow. Destinies can change, stories don’t always have to stay the same. Money you don’t have today can be got tomorrow. Don’t lose your soul trying to be some celebrity online, the fame you want will consume you and eventually destroy you. Follow your path, look up at the star illuminating your way. Love everyone regardless, do good to everyone. Some people will never know kindness until they are shown what it is, let’s treat humans how we should. The best part is we don’t have to have it all planned out. All we need is Jesus, He will help you, strengthen you, guide you. He never promised an easy life, but He did promise to be with you through the storm. He in you makes you stronger than any superhero out there. Jesus loves you more than anyone on earth could ever love you, He stripped Himself of everything to be like me. If you were the only person on earth He would have died for you. God loves you, I love you so go out there and love someone. Stop attracting foolish things from the universe when you have direct access the creator of the universe. We want to attract things from the universe because we know we ain’t been living right or we are scared it ain’t what God has planned for us. Your desire to be rich is not for the right reasons, give and live out of the nothing you have now and you will see what will happen. We get to give and not the other way round. Ash Wednesday

The day palms are burned and ashes are put in the form of crosses on the head. There is a lot of symbolism in Christianity, you put crosses on your head, anointing yourself with oil, rosaries….. the list is endless but is symbolism a good thing? As long as you don’t take your eyes off of the God who the symbols point to, you’d be good. Sometimes we forget the message and focus on the messenger, we put our trust in things we can see, feel, touch , hear. We allow ourselves to be distracted by the shiny packages our redemption and salvation comes in. Fasting is simply us denying ourselves of something (mostly food) to remember to focus on God. Prayer Is powerful but the moment you combine it and fasting, hell starts to shake. Say Wednesday itself is a symbol of you think about it. The start of the Easter fast, we go from that to the crucifixion and finally the resurrection. So symbolism done right is a good thing, don’t let people decide what your symbols should represent if God has shown you what it should already. If symbolism wasn’t such a threat to the kingdom of darkness why is the devil digging so hard to remove prayers, crosses and bibles from most places. Schools don’t pray no more, hotels don’t have bibles in them no more and the image of the cross has become offensive to others. Ash Wednesday/ Ash Monday (shout out to the Lebanese dude who educated me on this when I stopped to tell him he started Ash Wednesday two days early) itself is not important. When we look toward what it’s pointing at (symbols are really just there to point at something), then and only then do we really start cooking. Lord for every time I’ve taken my eyes of you and focused on the package, for every time I’ve focused more on the messengers and not the message pointing to you please forgive me. Help me to focus and keep my eyes and my heart fixed on you. Thank you Lord for hearing and answering my prayer. Amen
